We all slept in today. Breakfast at 10, lunch at 3, and dinner tonight at 7:30. The weather is great and everyone is recovering nicely from yesterday's carry. My headache disappeared overnight - thankfully!
Everyone has something different going on - laundry, solar shower, eating, hydrating and hanging out. With the sun out it can get to over 100° in the tent. So lots of the team have pulled out their sleeping mats and are snoozing outside. There is a great dinner in the works for tonight by chef Eric. Eric brought in his iPod speakers to the dining tent and I connected my Nano. We will see how long it takes them to veto my music!
Tomorrow we will leave the comfort of Base Camp for 9 days higher on the mountain - and our summit attempt. No more eggs and French toast - and lots of Ramen noodles!
I would like to say thank you to my son, Alex, for all his work keeping this site up to date! I am sending text and pictures differently and he pulls them all together including the official dispatches from the Alpine Ascents site. Thanks, Alex!

Go John! Great site. In the highly unlikely event you receive this message while on Aconcagua, please tell my good friend Cathy Goodrow, "GO SLOW and STAY WARM!"
Good luck to you!
